Headlining Base Material
Early cars (pre 1981) and later cars (from 1982) appear to have a headlining base material that is a fibrous composition formed into a semi-stiff headlining shell, on to which the headlining material is attached. Over time the shell can collapse necessitating replacement.
During the 1981 production period it would appear that some cars were fitted with a stiff fibreglass shell. These appear to be much heavier but hold their shape. However, they do not appear to be fitted to vehicles beyond 1981.
