This car was one of two that came from Standard Motor Products, India, through Australian Customs around 1988. It is believed they were brought in for the purpose of assessment for suitability in the Australian market. The Standard company went under within months of this import happening and the two cars sat in a customs store for about 6 years. About 15 years ago the two cars were auctioned off by customs, and while one was bought and then basically trashed, the other went into a collection. It has been garaged, on blocks, ever since. The car has been started regularly though not driven far. It had an 18 month stint in the WA Motor Museum.
